| At
the rate of nearly 1900 veterans dying every day, the "kid" of the 21st
century will never know "first hand" what it was like to know or to speak to
a World War II veteran or how about a Korean War Vet.
Those of us in our late 50's are typically
the Vietnam Veterans and many of us are also dying everyday. With that
idea in mind, don't you think it is a wise idea to help educate our children
who were born in the 1980's and 90's and show them first hand what Vietnam
was like?
that can be accomplished by being a
speaker to a class room full eager minds and listening ears to hear not so
much of the struggles, but the purpose of the War, what you may have done
over there for your country. What it meant to you to serve in your
country in the U. S. Marine Corp, the U. S. Air Force, the Navy, the
U. S. Coast Guard or the U.S. Army.
We are a wealth of information for anyone
who has not lived back then and there are millions of people who have not
been in a war and cannot relate to what goes on in the battlefield in a
country so far away.
So, Vietnam Veteran, get your thinking cap
on, consider what you might say to a classroom full of eager kids with
listening ears and fill them full of knowledge.
Our Chapter will speak to any class room
in the Yuma area whether it be elementary, high school or college and
provide you with an experience you'll not soon forget. Because, we
have not forgotten.
